You will need a FLAT surface to complete
this repair for your safety.
READ ALL OF
THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT. DO NOT
PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER. THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH
OR SERIOUS INJURY.
Once the
Alternator/Generator is removed, using a 13mm end wrench remove the
4 nuts holding down the stand.
Remove the old gasket
and Deflector plate
After removing the stand
from the engine case, clean the surface of the engine case and stand
with a brass wire brush to remove all of the old gasket.
Reinstall gasket and
deflector plate as shown in the photo
Place the Stand on to
the engine
Hand tighten down the
nuts till snug.
Tighten the nuts down
using only one turn at a time then go to the next nut. this will
ensure even pressure on the stand, gasket and deflector plate.
(uneven tightening will cause the stand to leak after about 6 to 10
months)
Torque the nuts down to
spec as shown in
Torque Specs.
