You will need a FLAT surface to complete this repair for your safety.

READ ALL OF  THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT.  DO NOT PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER.  THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

TOOLS NEEDED:

  1.  

Procedure for removal

  1. Loosen the lug bolts of the drivers side rear wheel.

  2. Lift VW using Rear Lifting procedure.

  3. Have a second person step on clutch pedal.

  4. If "loading" tube moves more than 1/8" (.125) 3mm Replace Loading Tube

  5. Clamp down with Locking pliers (a.k.a Vise Grips TM) on to the clutch cable; NOT THE THREADS!!!

  6. Spin the adjuster off.

  7. Turn adjuster rod in towards the pedal cluster.

  8. Remove the pedal cluster and the accelerator cable out AFTER you disconnect it from the carburetor.

  9. Disconnect Clutch cable from Hook

  10.
