A special thanks to Rodney for kicking me into
gear and getting this page done! THANK YOU, Rodney!
READ THE MANUAL FIRST!
You will need a FLAT surface to complete
this repair for your safety.
READ ALL OF
THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT. DO NOT
PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER. THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH
OR SERIOUS INJURY.
Be sure to mark the
flywheel and pressure plate so that you can install the pressure
plate in the same spot as it was removed. Shown as the "A" in the
photo
Break loose each of the
six 13mm bolts ONE TURN ONLY from the pressure plate as shown in the
photo
Continue until the
pressure plate is relaxed
Remove the six 13mm
bolts from the pressure plate as shown in the photo
After removing all of
the bolts, remove the pressure plate and clutch
Inspect the pressure
plate, clutch, and flywheel for unusual scarring. If you have any
deep cuts or ridges, replace the defective component(s).
Check your old clutch
disc for oil, ridges or scarring.
If you have found oil on
your clutch, you will need to replace the flywheel oil seal and
o-ring using the Flywheel Removal
procedure.
