You will need a FLAT surface to complete this repair for your safety.

READ ALL OF  THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT.  DO NOT PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER.  THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

TOOLS NEEDED:

  1. Flat Blade screwdriver

  2. 8,10,13,17, 19 mm wrench

  3. 8,10,13,17,19mm socket 3/8 or 1/2 inch drive

  4. 1/2 or 3/8 drive ratchet

  5. Engine dolly (not required but VERY helpful)

  6. Floor Jack (4000 lbs. capacity)

  7. 2 jack stands

  8. 2 Wheel Chocks

  9. Tire iron or "Tire Star"

  10. A second person (very helpful, but not required)

Procedure for removal

  1. Use the procedure listed on Engine Removal page.

  2. Be sure to mark the flywheel and pressure plate so that you can install the pressure plate in the same spot as it was removed. Shown as the "A" in the photo

  3. Break loose each of the six 13mm bolts ONE TURN ONLY from the pressure plate as shown in the photo

  4. Continue until the pressure plate is relaxed

  5. Remove the six 13mm bolts from the pressure plate as shown in the photo

  6. After removing all of the bolts, remove the pressure plate and clutch

  7. Inspect the pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel for unusual scarring. If you have any deep cuts or ridges, replace the defective component(s).

  8. Check your old clutch disc for oil, ridges or scarring.

  9. If you have found oil on your clutch, you will need to replace the flywheel oil seal and o-ring using the Flywheel Removal procedure.

  10. Now you are ready to reinstall the clutch
