Fuel Injection was not installed on U.S. 1950 - 1967 VWs. But starting in 1968 (like "TAZ"), the Bosch D-Jetronic systems were installed. The in 1974 L-Jetronic was used on the Type 1, Type 2 and Type 4. The D and L system were the only ones used by Volkswagen, until 1977 with the introduction of the Rabbit. So the D and L systems were the only ones on AIR COOLED VW. The type of fuel injection on VW are Pulsed or more commonly referred to as Electronic Fuel injection or EFI Throttle Body Fuel InjectionElectronic Fuel InjectionSwitching from Fuel injection to Carburetor
