Lifting up Your VW: Both Front and Rear

READ ALL OF  THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT.  DO NOT PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER.  THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

TOOLS NEEDED:

  1. Floor Jack (4000 lbs. capacity)

  2. 4 jack stands

  3. 2 Wheel Chocks

  4. Tire iron or "Tire Star"

Procedure for Lifting

  1. Chock rear tires. 

  2. Remove hub caps on all four wheel with a screwdriver or tire iron

  3. Break loose all lug bolts on all tires

  4. Place floor jack in center of lower beam just behind the sway bar on the front.     

  5. Jack up the vehicle to a height of a comfortable level for you to crawl underneath

  6. BEFORE getting under the VW: Place jack stands just to the outside of the zerk fittings on the front.

  7. Place floor jack in center of the beam when lifting the rear of the VW.     

  8. Jack up the vehicle to a height of a comfortable level for you to crawl underneath

  9. BEFORE getting under the VW: On the rear place the Jack stands under the jack hole on BOTH sides

  10. Remove all lug bolts and place them in the hub cab.

  11. Remove the tires from the Brake Drums.
