READ ALL OF THIS PROCEDURE SEVERAL TIMES SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND IT.  DO NOT PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUT OF ORDER.  THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

TOOLS NEEDED:

  1. Floor Jack (4000 lbs. capacity)

  2. 2 jack stands

  3. 2 Wheel Chocks

  4. Tire iron or "Tire Star"

Procedure for Lifting Left Side

  1. Remove hub caps on left side with a screwdriver or tire iron

  2. Break loose all lug bolts on tire(s)

  3. Chock right side tires. 

  4. Place floor jack under the jack hole.    

  5. Jack up the vehicle to a height of a comfortable level for you to crawl underneath

  6. BEFORE getting under the VW: On the rear place the Jack stands  under the torsion arm bushing retainer as shown in the picture:

  7. Remove all lug bolts and place them in the hub cab.

  8. Remove the tire from the Brake Drum.
