"How often should I check my tires and tire pressure?" I was always told by my father and grandfather (a tire shop owner) that you should check then daily or at least every 500 miles (800 km).

"How low is too low?" If your tire pressure is more than 10% below the normal pressure (32psi) or at 28psi then you are in danger of uneven tire wear or premature tire failure. An additional detrimental effect is lower fuel economy. Your fuel economy can drop as much as 10% to 20%.
