A special thanks to KXAS NBC5 in Fort Worth, Texas for inspiring this and all of the Tire pages.

"How do I tell if my tires need to be replaced?" Lincoln's head.  "WHAT!?"

Ok, the easiest way is to take a penny and place it in between the tread of your tires as shown in the picture.

If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it is time to replace your tires.

"What if I do not have a penny?"  Easy. Get a ruler and measure the tread depth.  It should be over 1/16th of an inch (1.5875 millimeters).

If your tire tread depth is less than the above depth, then you need to replace them soon before you get a flat tire or have a blow out at highway speed.  Additionally, tread depth below the above depth will fail a vehicle inspection in most states.

You have a lot riding on those tires!
